Genetically Based Sin

Thursday, September 27th, 2007

By Joseph Perrello Some time ago, I read with interest the comments someone sent to a large urban newspaper. They had to do with the writer’s concern on the implications of genetic research on the prevailing ideas regarding sin and man’s free will. Is humanity really responsible for some acts condemned by the Western religions? A United Methodist bishop also was quoted as wondering if sin is centered exclusively in free will. The Apostle Paul, the Church’s quintessential theologian would have no argument with the idea of genetically based sin. Such discoveries verify his teachings, long recorded in his Epistle to the Romans, that due to The Fall the human race is “sold under sin.” Paul wrote that, by its own volition, humanity is unable to practice the morality demanded by God, since the sin principle (Paul uses the term: “The law of sin and death”) is so dominant a factor in human nature that, without submission to the Spirit of God through Christ Jesus, men are unable to free themselves of its clutches. The human mind indeed may will to achieve the demands of God’s moral law, but the sin factor [genetically based sin] in fallen humanity does not permit it. A regeneration and transformation through Jesus Christ - a rebirth, if you prefer - is necessary. The Apostle Paul put it this way, “So I find that this law is at work: when I want to do what is good, that evil is the only choice I have. My inner being delights in the law of God. But I see a different law at work in my body - a law that fights against the law which my mind approves of. It makes me a prisoner to the law of sin which is at work in my body . . .” (Romans 7:21-23; Good News Bible). Paul’s solution? “There is no condemnation now for those who live in union with Jesus Christ. For the law of the Spirit, which brings us life in union with Jesus Christ, has set me free from the law of sin and death. What the law [the moral code] could not do, because human nature was weak, God did . . .” (Romans 8:1-3; Good News Bible; brackets added by the author). Yes, indeed! The genes of our race are programmed to sin! God understands this, and He has mandated a reprogramming through the Holy Spirit of those who are born again through Jesus Christ. It is for neglecting to avail one’s self of benefits of this reprogramming that a person is charged by God with guilt. Who knows? As scientist continue their search they yet may verify other long-scorned Biblical truths, such as life after death, the reality of heaven, and - now be nice, Josprel - perhaps even Hell and the Lake of Fire. -30- Josprel (Joseph Perrello)josprel@verizon.net A prolific writer, many of Josprel’s stories and articles have appeared in print and on the internet. He is an ordained minister living in Western New York. Josprel served three years with the U.S. Air Force, stationed in the Far East. Upon returning home, he studied for the ministry under the G.I. Bill of Rights. He holds a Master of Theology degree, ministers with the Evangelical denomination of his youth, and is authoring two novels: “Beloved Apostate” and “Kanfal.” Article Source: http://EzineArticles.com/?expert=Joseph_Perrello http://EzineArticles.com/?Genetically-Based-Sin&id=185074 cheap online pharmacy cheap online pharmacy levitra no prescription internet pharmacy

Conquer Your Hardships With A Smile, Take Secured Consolidation Loan

Wednesday, September 26th, 2007

By [http://ezinearticles.com/?expert=Grant_Cliv]Grant Cliv Secured consolidation loan is designed for giving an organised shape to your several debts. It becomes very miserable to lead life peacefully, when you are facing numerous creditors at your door every day. Secured consolidation loan brings a complete relief from the torture of dealing with these harassments of creditors every month. For many people it is hard to keep a control on borrowing habits. Due to their spend thrift nature, they become easy prey for lenders, who have keen eyes on such people. They are effortlessly melted with the tall claims and tempting offers of the cunning lenders and end up taking their various loan schemes. By the time they realise their fault, it gets too late and they are surrounded by ocean of debts and creditors. It leads to great anxiety and financial stress. Secured consolidation loan can turn as blessing in disguise for such persons when there is no way out. Secured consolidation loan requires collateral which could be your home, vehicle, precious gems, etc. You need to place it as collateral with the lender. In return, lender gives you low interest rate, small monthly amount and allots a long period of repayment, generally between 5 to 25 years. You can get a big amount to consolidate your debts. The risk factor in secured consolidation loan is giving up your property if lender does not get his repayment on time. Secured consolidation loan eliminates all your previous creditors; you have to bear with only one creditor every month. However, it does not imply your debts have been eliminated; they are only diverted for the sake of ease. You can successfully find a reasonable lender if you surf the financial websites. Soul Mate - a Pain in the Neck

Tuesday, September 25th, 2007

By Nisandeh Neta “and they lived happily ever after… That is how our favorite childhood fairytales have always ended. That is how the romantic movies from Hollywood always end. And that is what the media agencies advertisements promise will happen if we’ll purchase the right toothpaste, car, T-shirt or life insurance policy. In short, “”…and they lived happily ever after…”" is what we have been conditioned to believe our intimate relationship should look like. WAKE UP FOLKS! I hate to tell you this, but… GROW UP! We were conditioned to believe that life was going to be a bed of roses… a piece of cake… a walk in the park. Of course, what ‘they’ forgot to mention when we were kids, was that roses have thorns, cakes contain calories, and a walk in the park significantly increases your odds of stepping in dog’s you know what… One of the major myths we were led to believe in, since the 12th century, is the myth of romantic love. A myth that nowadays has its new-age label - the well-known ‘Soul Mate’. Romantic love is probably the most popular path to personal satisfaction and self-esteem in the western world. In our modern culture, we replaced religion with romantic love as the means by which we seek ecstasy, meaning and wholeness. Romantic love does not only mean ‘loving someone’, it also means ‘being in love’. When we are in love we believe we have found the ultimate meaning of life, as revealed in another human being - our Soul Mate. We feel ‘instantaneous completeness’ and believe that the so-called missing piece to our life and to ourselves, has finally been found. Life suddenly seems to have a wholeness, meaning, direction and purpose. There is this intensity, which lifts us high above our usual perception of reality. For most people, these exciting feelings are assumed to be the definite signs of the ultimate lover. Unconsciously, we immediately create a demand that our lover always provide us with this feeling of ecstasy and intensity. Despite that ecstasy, within a few weeks (or months) we usually encounter feelings of loneliness, alienation and frustration over our inability to create intimate, loving and committed relationship. Usually we blame our lover for failing us. What seldom occurs to us is that, it is we who need to transform our own unconscious beliefs, expectations and demands, which we impose upon our lover. Once aware of it, we realize that this relationship brings unhealed emotional ’stuff’ into our conscious mind. Only from this perspective, can we assume our responsibility for the situation and begin to deal with what comes to the surface. From this point of recognition, we can then begin to heal ourselves. I am convinced that we join in relationship with another person with the purpose of supporting each other’s personal-growth process. In order to support us on our path we need this private trainer or coach to walk with us. Imagine one of those famous football or basketball trainers, as your personal coach, 24 hours a day, all year round… I can see your horrified expression from here… Well, this personal coach is your Soul Mate. … not exactly what you had in mind when you saw that gorgeous someone at a party… The role of your Soul Mate is to confront you when you’re losing your integrity, to kick your ass when you’re getting lazy, push your buttons until you gain clarity of your destructive patterns, and so on… If you and your partner had both attained enlightenment, you probably wouldn’t have so much trouble. Your partner would have all the compassion in the world, and you would have the overview to see your partner’s contribution to your life. And then of course, if both of you are fully enlightened, then you probably don’t need a Soul Mate… However, assuming that both of you haven’t reached that stage of full self-realization yet, life is a bit more complicated… As Karen Scalf Linamen suggests, the phrase “”And they lived happily ever after”" is actually a long-forgotten medieval punch line that, when translated, means, “”And, boy - ha ha! - are they in for the surprise of their lives!”" Have fun…” About The Author Article by: Nisandeh Neta, author of the best-seller book Jump-Start Your Life: http://www.jump-start-your-life.com When you are ready to live a life of purpose, passion, happiness, freedom, and success - download one of his free books at: http://www.inspiration2go.com info@inspiration2go.com Article Source: http://EzineArticles.com/?expert=Nisandeh_Neta http://EzineArticles.com/?Soul-Mate—a-Pain-in-the-Neck&id=24606 price xenical usa xenical buy online xenical buy xenical

Set Your Relationship Up for Success

Sunday, September 23rd, 2007

By Steve Errey A quarter of thirtysomething couples are unhappy in their relationships, a new study shows. Just 51% of thirtysomething couples said they were very happy in their relationship, with the remainder saying they were quite happy but would like to see improvements. While its good news that over half of thirtysomething couples are very happy, more and more couples are tolerating the state of their relationships and dont know how to get the results they want. Many of them complain that a lack of respect, fun and quality time together contribute to being unhappy in their relationship. The research (conducted by website www.lifecoachforyou.com) polled over four hundred thirtysomethings in the UK and USA, and found that the biggest wants people have in their relationships are one to one time (17%), sex (10.7%), consideration (9.8%) and laughter (8.0%). Its evidence that many couples lack the skills and motivation to improve things in their relationships, and are putting up with things they dont need to. Steve Errey, a coach who specialises in thirtysomething relationships says: Couples dont realise that they are in a position to change things for the better. The simple fact is that bad relationships exist because theyre allowed to exist by each partner. Rather than tolerating the bad parts of a relationship they can put effort into improving them or removing them altogether. Why tolerate something that you know is making you unhappy? People dont put up with a lack of respect or honesty with their friends, but accept it with a partner simply because they think thats what theyre supposed to do. It seems crazy that people are prepared to live like that when all the answers are there for them. Unlike getting a drivers license or getting a job, the frightening part is that there are no requirements for entering a relationship. Anyone can enter into a relationship without any training, skills or awareness other than lessons learnt by watching their parents. As a result, people enter into relationships without any way of knowing what theyre creating or how to manage them. A relationship isnt something that sits outside of you, that you can point at and blame for what might be wrong, says Errey. What people don’t realise is that relationships are about relating to another person, and that means that where there’s a bad relationship theres bad relating. The good news is that relating skills can be picked up later in life and put to good use. Ben and Vicky are a thirtysomething couple living in London who seemed to have it all, and they went to see Steve before their wedding. Wed put our heads in the sand about the trouble our relationship was in, says Ben, and with the wedding approaching we both owned up and wanted to do something about it. Talking things through with Steve gave us a really clear picture of what was working and what wasnt working for each of us. When I got into things I saw how big a part I was playing in how things were between Ben and me, says Vicky, I thought the things that were wrong were down to what he was doing and not doing, and it was a real shocker to find out that I had just as much of a part to play. We worked with Steve and came up with different ways of doing things, better ways. We havent looked back, and Im so excited about being married. Steve says there are three key things to bear in mind when working to improve a relationship. Be absolutely prepared to own your part of it, warts and all. Nobodys perfect, and you need to honestly acknowledge your contribution to the state of the relationship and pin down the behaviours and patterns that you fall into. It’s important to see that relating is an active process, not a passive one. Its useful to get clear on what kind of relationship you want with your partner, and to come up with a shared vision of the relationship. What qualities do you want to see? How do you want to feel? What do you want the relationship to be about? How do you want your partner to feel? You dont need to share everything, see eye to eye all the time or avoid arguments, so this is as much about debunking some of the myths and getting real as well as being absolutely clear on what you both want. Communicate openly about whats real for you and get excited about what you want for yourself and for each other. Lastly, you need to sweep aside the old behaviours, patterns, squabbles and disagreements if theyre not working for you. If you carry on exactly as youve been doing youll keep getting exactly what youve got. Dont get clingy or possessive about those things, but start fresh and recognise that in every piece of your behaviour with your partner you can send either a message of acceptance or rejection. Thats where so many couples run into trouble its easy to just be lazy and unwittingly sending a message of rejection. We still argue and tease and sometimes get frustrated, says Ben, but we know how to deal with that stuff now and know its just part of being together. It actually makes it all okay, because we know we can get through it all. Light Up Your Garden And Brighten Your Life

Saturday, September 22nd, 2007

By Carolyn James Extending Your Living Space The garden is fast being considered to be an extension to your living space and homeowners are putting as much effort into creating a harmonious environment outside as they are inside. A beautiful garden is also considered to be one of the biggest selling features of a home and can certainly help to add value and appeal. As the short days of winter recede, many of us will be starting to think about our gardens and dreaming up projects and schemes that we plan to undertake when the days become longer and the weather warmer. For many traditionalists this will mean planting borders, manicuring the lawn and cultivating a myriad of blooms that will add colour and life to their gardens throughout the summer, whilst others will view their garden purely as an area in which to relax. Garden centres are already stocked with outdoor furniture, ubiquitous decking and the eclectic range of artefacts that are designed to help you enjoy your garden to the full. However, garden lighting is one of the most effective ways that you can improve the look and functionality of your outdoor living space and increases the time that you can appreciate this natural extension to your home. Garden lighting has moved beyond the occasional wall lantern or halogen floodlight illuminating the patio or garden path, blending functionality with creativity. Strategic outdoor lighting enables you to enjoy aspects of your garden at all times of the day or evening, all year round, whether for entertainment purposes or your own pleasure. The garden at night should be considered to be a blank canvas on which ones own creation can evolve. Properly placed lighting can create the most wonderful ambience by silhouetting trees, highlighting favourite shrubs, accenting flowerbeds or reflecting the diamond like sparkle of droplets cascading from a water feature. The Key to Successful Creative Lighting The key to successful lighting is to focus in on specific architectural features: Uplight pergolas, archways or faades for a dramatic effect Wash sides of buildings with a subtle light Focus a gentle light across fences and walls Highlight water features with submersible lights Silhouette trees by placing lights below and behind them. Bring your garden alive after dark by illuminating it with a range of carefully chosen coloured lights: Add warmth with tones of yellow or red Add a green light beneath foliage to make leaves appear greener Create a fresher, Nordic atmosphere with white or blue light. This is particularly effective if you have a lot of pine trees. Subtlety is the key, since a blend of too many colours can give a gaudy appearance, unless of course you have a penchant for theme park styles. Functional Lighting If you are seeking more functional lighting, then low voltage fittings are the best option. Uplighters fitted into decking or patios can add that subtle but necessary source of light when the sun goes down, whether you are entertaining or just relaxing. But there are always more creative possibilities. Recessed lighting can be built into steps and fixed seating or under handrails. Each source of light becomes a feature in itself and creates the individuality and atmosphere that reflects your own needs and personality. If you are an active barbecuer and you need more direct light, then spotlights that are discretely located but focused on your cooking area are ideal. If safety and security are your concern then there is a wide range of functional but aesthetic lighting available to illuminate steps, paths and driveways and help to prevent accidents after dark. Motion detectors that activate lighting when someone passes by have proved to be a boon for added security and safety. Another way of improving security is to have certain strategically placed lighting linked to photo electric cells that automatically turn on at dusk and off at dawn. Lighting Tips When creating a lighting scheme for your garden you should adopt the less is more approach. The objective must always be to see the landscape and not the lights, with the right balance between aesthetic and functional lighting. It is important always to use lights that have the correct IP rating and are therefore suitable for outdoor lighting. Although the installation of these types of light is not difficult, it is recommended that you employ a qualified electrician for their installation. There is a wide range of products on the market from which to choose, but the most cost-effective solution is to buy the best quality you can. By choosing quality products and having them professionally fitted youll have something that will not only last for years, but also maintains its good looks. Dont forget that you are starting with a blank canvas. Like art, there are a few basic rules that you should follow, but in the end beauty is in the eye of the beholder. Be creative. Five Proven College Test Strategies

Wednesday, September 19th, 2007

By Chris Stout The difference between a Zen-like test experience and an anxiety-ridden test experience is pretty clear. You either know what youre doing, or you dont. You either have confidence in you abilities, or you have doubt creeping in and clouding you response to every question. Test taking doesnt have to be traumatizing. If you prepare properly, you can control the apprehension. Here are five proven college test strategies thatll help you release the stress and focus on the task at hand. 1. Get a good nights rest and eat a good breakfastYoud be surprised by how much rest and balanced eating can enhance your test performance. You need to have a clear head and energy to execute. That means no grumbling tummies or weighted eyelids. Get to bed at a decent hour and in some protein in the morning. Bring a snack and water bottle if you have to, and dress in your pajamas if itll make you more comfortable. 2. Dont cram for your testsDistribute your studying over a period of a few days. The more time you spend on the material, the more itll stick in your mind. Cramming can lead to great successes, but years later, the academic adhesive will have worn off. Put a few days of coating on the strips of information you need to learn, and youll be able to recall trivial college information for years to come. 3. Relax. Clear you mind. Close your eyes. Breath. Get youre favorite song stuck in your head, and let it be the soundtrack that drowns out the anxiety and distracts you into critical thinking. Bring a pillow to class. Wear a thinking cap. Count backwards starting from the number ten. Do whatever you have to do to get your mind ready to go. Youre going to need your brain to be tranquil and fully functional. 4. Anticipate the questions youll be askedFigure out whats going to be on the test. Ask questions about the format. Find out what material is supposed to be covered. If you can be strategic about your studying, then youll save yourself a lot of time and hassle. 5. Share and exchange knowledge with your classmatesMeet with your classmates and pool together different areas of expertise. Share what you know and learn from other people. Stick to the facts and save your best ideas and frameworks for your own blue book. Dont hold out on your study buddies, just dont drop every part of your personal take. If you prepare for the test youll be fine. Control the variables involved. Make sure your rested, relaxed, well-fed and well-read. Meet with your fellow classmates and dont cram your study time into just one night. Figure out what to expect, and you will have nothing to worry about. Breast Enlargement Pill: Cheaper Alternative to Breast Enlargement Surgery

Monday, September 17th, 2007

By Jason Murphy Have you ever noticed that one physical attribute almost all women featured in billboards or magazine covers and spreads have in common? Yes, they all have well-endowed breasts, may it be natural or artificially enhanced. Indeed, marketing and promotional materials for liquors, cigarettes, and condoms usually seem to be lacking without the presence of nubile starlets, with gigantic breasts and in lingerie. This is the reason women who are flat-chested are dreaming of undergoing breast enlargement procedure that can instantly uplift their worth in the mammary asset department. Surprisingly, even women who already have relatively endowed chests are seeking the help of science in further improving their breast sizes. To this date, many women turn to breast enlargement pill with high hopes of achieving breasts big enough to fill the cup size of their fantasies. It doesn’t matter to some of these women if they have to spend a fortune just to have breasts humongous enough to rival that of Dolly Parton or Baywatch babe, Pamela Anderson. Both real and online markets nowadays are teeming with breast enlargement products promising attractive, sex symbol-like boobs. From breast augmentation and ‘magic’ creams to pills, a woman can choose among various boob-enhancing procedures and methods depending on their preference and budget. There are also several reasons why a particular woman wishes to improve her breast size but most of the time, every reason is brought about by the need to look and feel good. A desperate wife of a rich but philandering husband, for example, may want to enhance her breasts to lure her husband away from committing extra-marital affairs. The woman probably believes that once she had her breasts surgically enhanced, her husband will see her in a different light: someone who is just as exciting and desirable as the younger sexy women. An aspiring model may also subject herself to medical produces to ‘vulcanize’ her breasts. She may think having extra big and luscious breasts mean improving her chances of getting noticed by advertising agencies as well. A question pertaining to possible health complications is probably the most popular query a woman asks her doctor before subjecting her boobs to breast enlargement surgery. There are several women who wish to augment their breasts but are only too worried of hazardous side effects which may include excessive bleeding, infections, hematoma, or even breast cancer. Women who undergo surgical procedures should also expect certain amounts of pain in the process even if doctors use anesthesia. It is no wonder some women opt for the breast enlargement pill as a cheaper and painless alternative. But pills may not produce results as effective and as fast as surgeries can. No Prince Charming - You’-ve Got to be Kidding Me

Sunday, September 16th, 2007

By Rose DesRochers It all started with, Once upon a time there lived a noble gentleman who had a little girl. Stop right there and rewind! Before we get to the end of this story, where two people go off and live a fairy tale life, I have to tell you that there is no Prince Charming. The sooner that we ladies wake up and realize that, the better life will be. The average woman spends her life waiting for that perfect man, the one who completes her. Hes the one for whom she would not only give her heart, but her life. She keeps hoping and praying that Prince Charming will ride up on his horse and sweep her off her feet, and then they will ride off together and live happily ever after. What you see in movies and read in books is not what real relationships are about. The perfect man is not out there. Do you want to know why he isnt out there? Because, he does not exist! In my opinion, there is no such thing as perfect. Like every woman, each man has his flaws, his weaknesses, and his strengths. How can a woman expect a perfect man, when we as women are not perfect? In the movie, The Perfect Man Holly Hamilton (played by Hillary Duff) creates the illusion of “the perfect man” for her single mother, Jean Hamilton (played by Heather Locklear) who believes that she needs a man to be complete. Along the way Holly and Jean both learn that life is not really all that simple. Of course the movie is flawed because she winds up with a guy in the end. Go figure! But my point in all of this is: Ladies true happiness comes from within and while you are busy searching for that perfect man; you could be missing out on someone very special. There may be such a thing as true love, but you wont find it kissing frogs. He wont be placing a glass slipper on your foot and he wont say the right words and do the right things all the time. Quit dreaming about fairy tales and start living your life. As one learns to see ones self more clearly, she will see others more clearly. Dont be influenced by images and illusion. Life is funny that way. We spend so much time searching for a Prince. We have to ask ourselves if we are looking for love while blindfolded? A successful relationship is hard work and it takes commitment from both parties to make it last a lifetime. Remember that we all have faults and we all have short comings. Sometimes you just have to meet somewhere in the middle. While there may be no such thing as a true “Prince Charming” and life isnt quite like you dreamed as a child. There certainly may be a man out there that can be the next best thing. Ok, start the story. Once upon a time there lived a noble gentleman who had a little girl. I bet you cant wait to see the ending. Rose DesRochers is a published poet and freelance writer. Rose has been writing poetry for more than 20 years.
